Every day a little girl would ask her father to bring her some ice cream on his way home from work. One day, the father had a horrible and hectic time at work, confronting one problem after another. On his way home that evening, he realized that he’d forgotten to get his daughter’s ice cream. When the girl saw her father she was not angry, instead she said, “Daddy, I know you had a hard day.” She told him she understood and that it was okay. “You’ve been so good to me, don’t even worry about it”

Do you know what the father did? He got off the sofa and went out and got his little girl some ice cream. Do you know why? His daughter appealed to his heart and not just his hand. Here’s the question we must ask ourselves: How often do we appeal to God’s heart instead of focusing on what we perceive we’re not getting from his hand!
