You can save a fortune by using rechargeable batteries. But if you do not recharge them on schedule, they won’t do the job. In the same way that batteries must be recharged, the Christian must recharge his spiritual batteries every day!!! Otherwise, we will start at 100% the first day but on the next day, we’ll only operate at 85% power. The day after that, 70% power, then 50%, then 25%… Before long, won’t even have the strength left to plug ourselves into our source of power!!If you follow God’s plan for your life waiting time does not have to be wasted time. Isaiah 40:31 says “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. NKJV
Four things will happen when we wait on the Lord:
1. We gain new strength. We may feel weak, even intimidated when we turn to our Lord, but amazingly while waiting, we exchange our weakness for His strength!!
2. We get a better perspective. The scripture says you “will mount up with wings like eagles…” Eagles have excellent eyesight and on a clear day can spot a fish in a lake several miles away!! When we soar like eagles and wait, we gain perspective on what we are dealing with, or on what God wants us to accomplish.
3. We store up extra energy. We “will run and not get tired” notice this part of the scripture is in the future tense–and this is good news. When we finally encounter the thing that we’ve been dreading, if we’ve been waiting on the Lord, we will encounter it with new strength; extra energy will be ours to use.
4. And finally the Lord reassures us by whispering to us that we “will walk and not become weary.” These words of assurance allow us to deepen our determination to persevere. God puts steel in our bones, so to speak. One translation of Psalm 105:19 says He will “put iron in his soul!!!” In other words, as we wait on the Lord we’ll feel increasingly more invincible. Remember, if you follow God’s plan for your life waiting time does not have to be wasted time.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Ephesians 3:16-17 (NKJV)
That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love.
