What’s Partnership?

The Queen of Sheba applied a principle mentioned in Proverbs 18.16. She presented a gift that made room for her and brought her before Solomon, the wealthiest and wisest man that ever lived. She understood the power of a gift even when dealing with someone who certainly did not need any. The reason for this apparent “waste” was that she wanted to test Solomon’s reputation and partake of his anointing. The return on investment was beyond what she could imagine (Ephesians 3.20). She benefited from his wisdom and wealth (2 Chronicles 9.1-12)

In I Kings 17.8-24, the Widow of Zarepath, when feeding Elijah was actually feeding herself. She took on the man of God’s challenge to trust God for her daily provision by giving all she had. As she served Elijah first, she grew accustomed to seeing her needs met. Her ultimate reward was witnessing the first resurrection from the dead recorded in history – that of her own son. When her son died of sickness, she placed a demand on Elijah to “do something” and he surely did.

The Apostle Paul could not help but praise God every time the Philippians came to mind. They were the only church who consistently supported Paul financially even when he was not in town. The Philippians wanted to share in every good thing with their teacher: the one that God had used to affect their lives. They were chasing Paul in order to minister to him financially. Paul wrote them a letter, the book of Philippians, in which he states that his “God shall supply all their needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4.19)
