There was a wealthy English man Barron Fitzgerald. He had an only son whom he loved with all of his heart and might. Unfortunately, this young man got sick and he died. Fitzgerald was shattered at the loss of his son. As time passed, Fitzgerald died and he had a very large art collection that was extremely valuable but there was no one to inherit it. His wife had long since been dead. The first piece of art was a picture of his son and it did not have the beauty of all the other pieces. It was sort of a personal thing that had a lot of sentimental value to him. And of course, people were coming for the expensive pieces not this sentimental picture. The auctioneer asked for a bid on the picture of Fitzgerald’s son and nobody showed any interest because they had come for the good stuff not the picture of his son, the expensive stuff. They did not want the ordinary stuff.

The auctioneer kept calling and calling but nobody would bid. Then a lonely man said, “If nobody wants the picture of the boy I will take it.” While this was going on the crowd was getting very impatient. They wanted the rest of the auction to proceed. When it was over, the people were upset and said, “What do you mean it is over?” The crowd cried the louder, “What do you mean it is over? You only sold one piece that nobody wanted.” People were upset because they came from far and wide. Then the auctioneer said let me read to you from the will of Barron Fitzgerald, “Whoever buys the painting of my son receives my entire collection at no charge.” “So the auction is over!” If you love and receive the son of God, His kingdom is yours!

RELATED VERSES

Matthew 3:17 (NKJV)
And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Romans 5:16-1 (NKJV)
And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
