There’s a movie called “The Day After Tomorrow” that deals with radical shifts in global warming. All of a sudden, the weather shifts, and there’s snow falling all over the world, and the United States is starting to freeze over. One character works in Washington, DC and his son’s in New York City. Responding to his son’s phone call about the dangerous weather, in the midst of the blizzard, the man takes off on foot to get his son, and eventually picks up a sled with hopes it will get him there faster.

If the Father said He's coming back, He IS coming back.. Click To Tweet

The script yields one of the best lines ever. The son, who’s trying to weather the storm with some of his friends is undaunted. Even though rescue may seem uncertain to them, the son tells his friends that his father is coming to help them. Despite his friends’ disbelief, he maintains, “If my father told us he’s coming back, he’s coming back.”

We should all live with this same confidence about our heavenly Father! If the Father said He’s coming back, it doesn’t matter what the circumstances are, He IS coming back.

RELATED VERSES

Acts 3:19-21 (NKJV)
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.

Philippians 3:20-21 (NKJV)
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV)
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
