Prior to the 1988 Olympics, there was a television show about training blind skiers in slalom racing. Trainees would start off using a flat area and would be paired with a sighted skier. The blind skier learned to turn right and left and we taken to the slalom slopes. Sighted skiers would ski with them and shout; “left!” “right!” “right!” The trainees would turn when their sighted partner told them. They relied solely on the word of their sighted partner. If they relied on that word and turned when they were told to turn, then everything would turn out perfect. It was either trust or catastrophe! By listening to that sighted partner, they would finish the course and get across the finish line. This is the Christian life; we are blind compared to the Holy Spirit. If we take Him at His Word, He will cause us to navigate the course of life and bring us to the finish line safely, but we must take Him at His Word.

Isaiah 30:21 (NKJV)
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.
John 16:13 (NKJV)
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
Romans 8:14-17 (NKJV)
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
