It’s critically important to allow ourselves to engage in the process, to go through what we need to go through to complete the cycle or season we’re in. There’s a story of a little chick who’s living inside an egg, and every day that little chick pecks against the shell, peck, peck, peck. She doesn’t know which peck is going to be the peck that cracks the shell, but nonetheless, little chick faithfully engages in the discipline of pecking and pecking, and while the chick pecks away, it’s growing, and building up its skeletal frame and musculature. One day, a little child comes along and hears that little chick pecking away on the inside of the egg and thinks the chick is stuck and wants to help…
