Law Leash

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, May 22nd 2017 Share the goods! Have you ever seen a big dog on a leash and the person is being pulled in each and every direction? You keep listening to the owner yell at the dog “come over here, come over here” and it looks like the dog is walking the person rather than the person walking the dog. This is exactly how some people live their Christian life. They are living their Christian lives on a law leash! “Stop doing this, stop doing that, read your bible, go to church…” There is nothing wrong with these things in themselves, but we are being jerked around by a law leash. Now, have you ever seen a dog walk by its master without a leash yet they never leave their master? The person walks, the dog walks. The person stops, the dog stops. You know why you do not need a leash? Because of their relationship. When you walk in a house, you can always tell the difference between a grace dog and a law dog. A law dog always has its tail tucked in underneath, it is intimidated by its master because it thinks the master is going to yell, “Do this!” or “I am going to spank you with the newspaper!” But when the grace dog sees its master, its tail starts to wag because it knows that there is a relationship. Jesus paid the price to give us access to the relationship He has with Father God. Click To Tweet MORE TOPICS addiction authority biblical characters career challenges...

The Fitzgerald Auction

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, April 17th 2017 Share the goods! There was a wealthy English man Barron Fitzgerald. He had an only son whom he loved with all of his heart and might. Unfortunately, this young man got sick and he died. Fitzgerald was shattered at the loss of his son. As time passed, Fitzgerald died and he had a very large art collection that was extremely valuable but there was no one to inherit it. His wife had long since been dead. The first piece of art was a picture of his son and it did not have the beauty of all the other pieces. It was sort of a personal thing that had a lot of sentimental value to him. And of course, people were coming for the expensive pieces not this sentimental picture. The auctioneer asked for a bid on the picture of Fitzgerald’s son and nobody showed any interest because they had come for the good stuff not the picture of his son, the expensive stuff. They did not want the ordinary stuff. If you love and receive the son of God, His kingdom is yours! Click To Tweet The auctioneer kept calling and calling but nobody would bid. Then a lonely man said, “If nobody wants the picture of the boy I will take it.” While this was going on the crowd was getting very impatient. They wanted the rest of the auction to proceed. When it was over, the people were upset and said, “What do you mean it is over?” The crowd cried the louder, “What do you...

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, November 21st 2016 Share the goods! If you have had braces attached to your teeth, you know that after a brief adjustment period you do not even know they are there, yet they are always there applying steady constant pressure. Over a long period of time, they change the location of your teeth. This is how we are equipped to live like Christ. When we commit to living like Christ, we allow him to apply the gentle, steady constant pressure that will change the location of our desires, our motivations, and our ambitions. And at times, like our teeth, it may be a slow process. If you had braces when your teeth finally straightened out, do you remember what the orthodontist warned if you did not wear your retainer every night? He said your teeth would go back to their old location. In much the same way, there is never a time when we do not need to be equipped by Jesus. We need to stay connected to Jesus to allow him to apply the pressure on our lives to keep us on the narrow path. There is never a time when we do not need to be equipped by Jesus. It’s in the Blood

It’s in the Blood

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, August 22nd 2016 Share the goods! There is power in a bloodline. People suffer from low self-esteem because they do not know the power of the bloodline that they come from. The study of horses reveals some interesting things… A thoroughbred horse is bred from the purest and best blood. They are referred to as “Blood Horses.” Approximately 300 years has been invested in the development of their bloodline, also referred to as the horse’s stock. The people responsible for protecting the bloodline are known as “Blood Stock Agents.” When a “Blood Stock Agent” is looking to purchase a colt, a baby horse, he is not concerned with its physical characteristics; he only wants to know one thing: what is its bloodline. The colt’s worth and purchasing price are not dependent on its achievements but on the victories that have been won in its bloodline. The Blood Stock Agent knows that in spite of how feeble the weak-kneed colt looks as it stumbles around while trying to stand up for the first time, it is going to stand in the winner’s circle one day because it has the blood of champions. A complete analysis is done of the mare and the stallion before breeding. First, the horse’s physical attributes are studied: stride, leg length, foot strike, angles of the ankles, and size of the lungs. Then the attributes of the bloodline are taken into consideration: who are the ancestors, what did they go through, what are their accomplishments, and what are their measurements. Every ancestor on both sides is researched and...

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, February 8th 2016 Share the goods! If we were able to control every point of access into America, or only have one point of access then it would be difficult for terrorists to infiltrate the country. But since there are many entry points it makes the job of keeping villains out more challenging. Like a bank robber or jewel thief is how satan attempts to act in our lives. He wants to sneak in and gain access into our minds and lives at entry points where our defenses are down. If we can control our thought life, we can control our decisions. Click To Tweet Notice the Bible does not say “take every demon captive,” but rather 2nd Corinthians 10:5 says to “take every thought captive.” This doesn’t mean that we don’t have to cast out demons, but we cast out demons from demon-possessed people, not normal everyday saints. If we can control our thought life, we can control our decisions. If we can control our thought life, we can control the amount of peace that we experience. The Emancipation Proclamation was signed in 1863, but Texas didn’t find out about it until June 19, 1865, which means there was a two-year gap between the time when the slaves were granted liberty and when they experienced liberty. Nobody told the slaves in Texas they were free. Even though they were legally free, they were not experientially free, so in 1865, blacks in Texas were still walking around behaving like slaves.

The Fortune of Mr. Yates

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, November 2nd 2015 Share the goods! During the Great Depression, there was a man named Mr. Yates who owned a farm and was doing everything he could not to lose it. But his best efforts appeared not to be good enough. The mortgage company eventually let Mr. Yates know that his farm would soon be foreclosed. Discouragement set in and Mr. Yates and his family were resigned to losing what they had so diligently desired to keep. One day, a man from an oil company knocked on Mr. Yates’ door, and asked for permission to drill on his land. Mr. Yates said, “Go ahead, I am going to lose the property anyway.” Almost instantly, the oil company hit a gusher, and oil started to pour forth. In fact, 82,000 barrels a day started to pour forth, making Mr. Yates an instant millionaire. Don't succumb to giving up: throw in the towel and experience spiritual foreclosure! Click To Tweet Here’s the question: When did Mr. Yates become a millionaire? Did he become a millionaire when the oil company discovered oil on his property? Or did he become a millionaire the day he purchased the property? There was a gap between the time that Mr. Yates bought the property and the discovery of the oil. Similarly there are Christians who entered into a relationship with Christ years ago, but aren’t experiencing or walking in their full inheritance. They don’t know that they’re spiritual millionaires! Many Christians are willing to just give up and throw in the towel and experience spiritual foreclosure. If you...
Forming Pearls

Forming Pearls

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, October 26th 2015 Share the goods! What are pearls? Pearls are formed from irritations inside a clam. A grain of sand lodges in the flesh of a clam and begins to form an irritation. The body of the clam begins to fight the sand by building up calcium. As it builds up calcium it starts to form a pearl. As we fight against the irritations in our lives we, too form pearls. The things that we’ve endured, the things that have hurt us cause us to build up a defense, just as the clam forms a pearl by fighting against the sand trapped in its flesh. The pearls in our lives are formed by the irritations in our lives. Pearls are beautiful. They are wonderful. They look good. But those pearls were built up by the pain in our life. Those pearls were built up by pressing on. Those pearls were created by enduring hardship like a good soldier. Don't throw your pearls before swine. Click To Tweet Your pearl will take a while to build up. You cannot build a pearl in just one minute. You cannot build a pearl in just a second. To build a pearl you may have to live with some pain for awhile; you may have to go through some irritation and suffering for awhile. But you have to find people who share a similar vision. You have to talk to people who have not given up on God. You have to talk to people who think God can do big and great things, and...
The Blessing

The Blessing

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, October 19th 2015 Share the goods! Blessing” is the main buzz word now in the Christian community. Everyone’s talking about “receiving a blessing” or “being blessed”, but when they use the word “blessing,” they’re usually referring to a material blessing–they’re talking about the the car, the house, the mate, the job. Those folks are looking for a physical manifestation of a desire, and that’s fine, but the essence of a true blessing takes place on the inside. In the process of moving toward the thing that you desire, the LORD does a work on you in the inside. What you become in the process of being blessed is more important than the end result. Proverbs 10:22 says, “The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” NKJV. So don’t tell me that God blessed you with a house, and you’re miserable going home. Don’t tell me that He’s blessed you with more money, but you’re giving less than you did before. Don’t tell me that God has blessed you with a new job, but your family’s being destroyed because you’re not home as much. It’s not a blessing if you haven’t been transformed on the inside. Blessing takes place first on the inside. How do you know when a caterpillar has been blessed? Most would respond: When it turns into a butterfly. Yes that’s true, but the real blessing starts as the caterpillar is turning into a butterfly; a mighty change starts to take place on the inside of a caterpillar and then in due time...

There was a married couple who were in the airport and as they were walking, they approached one of those moving sidewalks. So the husband got on but his wife decided to walk. Now his journey was easy because he was resting on an external source to get him where he needed to be. His wife was breathing hard because she was relying on herself. As the husband watched her, he turned away. He got to the end of the sidewalk and was looking back to see how long it would take his wife to get to him. As he was waiting, he heard his wife call his name. She had been waiting for him. You know why? Because all of a sudden, it dawned on her that this was too much work, so she hopped aboard one of the golf carts and caught a ride. This is called grace!!! Stake in The Ground

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, March 27th 2017 Share the goods! As a child, many of us have been to the Ringling Brothers circus at Madison Square Garden or the Nassau Colosseum. If you look at the elephants, you will see that while huge, they are tied to a little tiny stake that has been hammered into the ground. Did you know that if they wanted to, they could rip the stick out and free themselves to roam? But they will never do it. Because when they were a baby, they were “lied” to. The trainer led them to believe that as long as there was a stake in the ground with a chain, they were helpless, hopeless, and bound. They drummed this into the elephant’s orientation so regularly – hitting the little elephants’ leg when they tried to move it!!! Those elephants will die never having known that they had the power to move the stake. The people who know their God will do great exploits. Click To Tweet Catch this!!! This is satans’ agenda; many Christians will die never having known what they could have been if they knew the power of the revelation of their righteousness in Christ. The little stake that is holding you down can be ripped up when you use your God-given power. You have the authority to rip up the influence of the person that is holding you back. Same for the circumstance that is controlling you!!! Daniel 11:32 tells us that the people who know their God will do great exploits! When was the last time you did...

Not in The Shell

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, March 20th 2017 Share the goods! If you want a big tree, you don’t plant a big tree. No, you must plant a seed. This happens in the spring. When you look at the picture on the outside of the package, and you compare it to the contents, the two do not look the same. This is how nature works. You plant a seed, and then the plant comes up, but it does not look like the seed. When you have a bunch of seeds together, it could be apple, tomato, etc. If you place them together, you don’t know the difference until you plant them. But when they grow up they all look different. When you plant a seed and it dies, what really dies? The shell of the seed dies not the heart of the seed. Let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. Matthew 16:24 Click To Tweet Now, this is critical because the life does not come from the shell, it originates from the inside, but that life cannot come forth until the outside of it dies away. This is what dying to self is. Then something new comes. Think about it, in the fall you will have acorns all over the place, but the acorns are what cause oak trees to come forth. So the acorn’s shell dies and dissolves, and the inside of the acorn produces the tree. The trunk of the tree, the leaves, the tree itself, the acorns produced on the tree did not come from the shell rather...

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, March 6th 2017 Share the goods! When you go to a foreign country, it is great to have a map that shows you where to go. But you know what is even better than a map? A tour guide. The Holy Spirit wants to be your tour guide “showing” you where God wants you to go and how to give birth to the man or women He created you to be. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to constantly keep speaking to you about your future. The enemy’s agenda is to keep reminding you of painful memories from your past. When satan tries to bring up memories; remind him of his future and let him know that he is not going to like the temperature setting of the place he is destined to go. Isaiah 54:4: “Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; for you will forget the shame of your youth, and will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.” Notice how the scripture keeps addressing the issue of shame. Metabolize Your Life

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, May 2nd 2016 Share the goods! When we do not metabolize or process the events in our lives we prevent ourselves from being able to embrace the new that God has for us. We’re like a computer that has a very small hard drive, say 3GB, and every time we try to upload a new program to our computer it slows down. I once had a computer that took 15 minutes to “boot up.” I would turn on my computer in the morning and then I would take a shower or eat breakfast, or do a whole bunch of other things. I finally realized that my computer was slow because there was no room on my hard drive for anything new. Get ready for the new things God has for you! Click To Tweet In other words, I had to remove some old programs to make room for the new programs. This is how life is for many people. God has some new software that He wants to load onto the hard drive of our life. But because we haven’t metabolized, or processed previous experiences we are unable to embrace what God is trying to do. It could be said that some people spend their whole lives “booting up.” In other words, they never get to run the program of life that God has for them because they are always “booting up.” They never get to the application of the things that God has for them because of unresolved issues that keep them in perpetual “boot up” mode. The goal of...

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, February 22nd 2016 Share the goods! Years ago a report was released about some Americans who went to a remote area in the Pacific islands, and discovered people still fighting fifteen to twenty years after World War II had ended. The people on the island had not heard the news that bombs had been dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and that a peace treaty had been signed, and the war was over. When the Americans arrived and told them that the war was over, the islanders initially didn’t believe them and thought the Americans were trying to kill them. Are you fighting a war that has been over since Christ died for your sins? Click To Tweet Later they discovered how ignorant they’d been—fighting for two decades after the war was over. This is what the sinner discovers after he gets born again. He realizes that he’s been fighting a war that has been over since Christ died for his sins.
