He could not afford the great seats so he bought the cheaper seats relatively speaking and he was in the nosebleed section, even though his ticket had cost $350.00. The man noticed something as he looked through his binoculars, he saw that down on the 50-yard line was an empty seat. “I can’t stand this! I’m going to go down there and see if I can get that empty seat.” He made his way down there. It took him past half time to get to the seat because he had to travel so far. He got down there walked over to the seat and said, “Sir, is there anyone sitting in the seat?” He replied, “You can sit here the seat is available. My wife and I would go to the Super Bowl every year, but my wife recently died and so this seat is available.” Then it dawned on the man, as he started thinking to himself, “Your wife recently died, don’t you have some relatives or friends that you could have brought with you to bring to the game and sit in the seat?” The man responded: “Yes but they are all at the funeral.” You see that man had his priorities confused… What is the most important thing to you? Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, May 29th 2017 Share the goods! A pilot in Texas left the motor on and somehow his plane engaged itself. It was without a pilot. The plane took off and it was flying on its own, it kept on flying for 90 minutes. Then it ran out of gas and crashed. It was totally destroyed!!! You can fly on your own for a while. You can take off and be somebody for a while. You can act like you are going higher and higher for a while. You can play a little religion but not be serious about submitting yourself to the Holy Spirit. And for a while, it looks like people who don’t follow Christ are flying high for a while. You wonder to yourself how come it appears like they are soaring without any interruption? It may even make you jealous when you look at people who have no respect for the things of God going higher and higher. The Holy Spirit has one word for you and that word is “Keep watching because sooner or later they are going to run out of gas and when you run out of gas without Me behind the seat of your life, it will crash and be totally disintegrated.” This is why the Bible says, “Don’t be envious of the evil doers.” Just because they are making money or it looks like they are soaring for this season does not mean they will be there for long. Don't buy things you can't afford with money you don't have to impress people...

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, May 22nd 2017 Share the goods! Have you ever seen a big dog on a leash and the person is being pulled in each and every direction? You keep listening to the owner yell at the dog “come over here, come over here” and it looks like the dog is walking the person rather than the person walking the dog. This is exactly how some people live their Christian life. They are living their Christian lives on a law leash! “Stop doing this, stop doing that, read your bible, go to church…” There is nothing wrong with these things in themselves, but we are being jerked around by a law leash. Now, have you ever seen a dog walk by its master without a leash yet they never leave their master? The person walks, the dog walks. The person stops, the dog stops. You know why you do not need a leash? Because of their relationship. When you walk in a house, you can always tell the difference between a grace dog and a law dog. A law dog always has its tail tucked in underneath, it is intimidated by its master because it thinks the master is going to yell, “Do this!” or “I am going to spank you with the newspaper!” But when the grace dog sees its master, its tail starts to wag because it knows that there is a relationship. In the Oxford crew, you will see these men who are sweating and straining and their movements are incredibly synchronized as they pull the long oars through the water. What is interesting is that these men have their backs to the finish line. How do they pace themselves and how do they know when to sprint? The answer is simple they focus on the coxswain. He is the guy with a megaphone sitting at the end of the boat facing the crew. He is the only one who knows where the finish line is. So the men at the oars focus on him, listen to him, obey his commands, and count on him to coach them to the finish line. He will pace them, he will encourage them, and they trust in him implicitly to get them across the finish line in the strongest possible way. They are counting on the coxswain to enable them to finish strong. We must learn to do the same thing with Jesus Christ! We must learn to trust the leading of the Holy Spirit. Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, April 24th 2017 Share the goods! Prior to the 1988 Olympics, there was a television show about training blind skiers in slalom racing. Trainees would start off using a flat area and would be paired with a sighted skier. The blind skier learned to turn right and left and we taken to the slalom slopes. Sighted skiers would ski with them and shout; “left!” “right!” “right!” The trainees would turn when their sighted partner told them. They relied solely on the word of their sighted partner. If they relied on that word and turned when they were told to turn, then everything would turn out perfect. It was either trust or catastrophe! By listening to that sighted partner, they would finish the course and get across the finish line. This is the Christian life; we are blind compared to the Holy Spirit. All of a sudden, to their chagrin, they heard the cry of a little baby come from the house. They were overwhelmed with agony and then a man came out of left field bursting through the chaos. Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, November 7th 2016 Share the goods! So often we feel the leading of the Holy Spirit particularly with our mouths, but it can be any aspect of our lives. The Holy Spirit will prompt us and tell us that something we are about to do is not going to be good. We might say the Holy Spirit gives us a “yellow light.” The light is yellow and it is about to turn red and so often we say, “I can make it.” If the Holy Spirit gives us a “yellow light” and tells us to slow down then we must learn to listen to Him. This is very important because we must learn to enjoy the restraint of the Holy Spirit as much as we like the “leading” of the Holy Spirit. The scientists put water in different jars and labeled the jars with certain words on the outside labels. One container was labeled love. Another container was labeled hate, and another was labeled patience. What is interesting is that after some time had passed, the scientists checked the molecular structure of the water inside the containers and discovered to their amazement the molecular structure had changed!!! This is so deep because if we as people are made of 90% water, then words must have a significant impact on us as people!!! There is power in the words we speak. Click To Tweet This is very similar to the demonstration done to prove the impact of music on plants. What was discovered was that the plants with the classical music grew above average. The plants with no music grew at an average rate, and the plants with hip hop/heavy metal music grew but at a rate below average. Click To Tweet Pose those same questions to two fathers concerning their role in the family, and you are liable to get the same contrast. The first man may say, “I am supporting a family,” but the second may see things differently and say, “I am raising children.” The former looks at his job as putting food on the table, but the latter sees people from God’s perspective in that he is shaping lives. In My Father’s Shoes

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, August 29th 2016 Share the goods! The goal of discipleship is to have someone step in our shoes and pave new territories. This is the beauty of daddy’s little boy clomping down the stairs with a pair of his father’s shoes; that picture is a nostalgic one. What men do not realize is that someday their son will fill shoes in the way life was modeled for them. This is deep because at best, a father will have 15 years to model the behavior for his sons, and the first eight years are the most important. This is why it is so important to realize that children model what they see, and they will model what is displayed at home. Children model what they see, and they model what is displayed at home. Click To Tweet This is profound because there isn’t a curriculum to teach children how to treat people with dignity and affection. In other words, you cannot diagram dignity and affection. You cannot diagram respect, forgiveness, or servanthood. This is not found in any encyclopedia that I know of, but it must be put in motion. It is so important what a father models, so if he makes statements like, “Those dumb police are always trying to stop speeders with their radar! It’s in the Blood

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, August 22nd 2016 Share the goods! There is power in a bloodline. People suffer from low self-esteem because they do not know the power of the bloodline that they come from. The study of horses reveals some interesting things… A thoroughbred horse is bred from the purest and best blood. They are referred to as “Blood Horses.” Approximately 300 years has been invested in the development of their bloodline, also referred to as the horse’s stock. The people responsible for protecting the bloodline are known as “Blood Stock Agents.” When a “Blood Stock Agent” is looking to purchase a colt, a baby horse, he is not concerned with its physical characteristics; he only wants to know one thing: what is its bloodline. The colt’s worth and purchasing price are not dependent on its achievements but on the victories that have been won in its bloodline. The Blood Stock Agent knows that in spite of how feeble the weak-kneed colt looks as it stumbles around while trying to stand up for the first time, it is going to stand in the winner’s circle one day because it has the blood of champions. A complete analysis is done of the mare and the stallion before breeding. First, the horse’s physical attributes are studied: stride, leg length, foot strike, angles of the ankles, and size of the lungs. Then the attributes of the bloodline are taken into consideration: who are the ancestors, what did they go through, what are their accomplishments, and what are their measurements. Every ancestor on both sides is researched and...

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, July 11th 2016 Share the goods! There are some key questions that affect the tip when you go to a restaurant. The first thing is: Are you cheap? Some people have a no tip philosophy, so that immediately will effect their tip. In other words do you value service to begin with? The second consideration is the food. Was it good? Did I enjoy my meal? But the biggest determining factor is the waiter or waitress. Have you ever been at a restaurant and the waitress says “here,” throws the plate down, gives you the evil eye and generally looks like they do not want to be there? Part of you says, I wish he or she would have just stayed home. Sometimes it is so bad, that you are thinking, I would have preferred to go into the kitchen and gotten my own food, because service was so sloppy. And if you are like me then you do not like it, you do not appreciate it! Their service affects their tip. You are blessed to be a blessing. Planted vs Buried

Planted vs Buried

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, October 12th 2015 Share the goods! It’s critical that we know the difference between being planted, and being buried. In John 12:24 (NKJV), Jesus says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.” God wants you to know that you’ve been planted, but satan wants you to think that you’ve been buried. So it’s critical that we know the difference between planting and burial. On the surface, planting and burying look the same; both involve digging into the ground, but here’s the key difference: planting has a future; burial does not. You bury the dead when life is over, but when you plant a seed, you bury it in the ground so that after a period of transformation it comes back up greater than it was when it went down. When you plant a seed, you aren’t burying it to get rid of it, but rather you are planting the seed so that new life may grow. But satan wants you to feel that you’re buried. Buried in guilt. Buried in shame. Buried in regret. And he wants you to remain in buried, stuck in the dark. Just because you may be in a dark place now, it doesn’t mean that that’s your final destination. Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, September 11th 2017 Share the goods! Do you remember when you were a little kid and you used to play a game called “Follow the Leader”? Remember what that was like; you would pick one child and make them the leader and whatever the leader did you would have to do. So if the leader stood up on one leg, you would have to stand up on one leg. If the leader would hop on their right leg, then you had to hop on the right leg or you were out. If the leader would hop on the left leg you had to hop on the left leg or you were out. If the leader climbed a tree, you had to climb the tree or you were out. Now here is the key question: how did you know what the leader was doing so that you could imitate him? Simple. You had to stay in their presence. If you refused to stay in their presence, then you would not know what to do. If you looked away for a second, then you would not know what the leader is doing. As a child, many of us have been to the Ringling Brothers circus at Madison Square Garden or the Nassau Colosseum. Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, January 9th 2017 Share the goods! One of the greatest and scariest aspects of 9/11 was the fact that the enemy had set up cells in our community. This is so scary because cells are pockets of enemies that are planted so that they can familiarize themselves with our patterns of life. In older times they were called the fourth column. Well, satan does the same thing now. He sets up cells that plant themselves in our minds and they study our thoughts and the things that interest us. He plants the cell of ‘unlovable.’ In other words, he tells you that you are unlovable. He tells them that they will never meet anyone who will care for them. 3. Age is another cell that the enemy plants. She runs with her longtime friend, Paul Hoeberigs, with a surgical cloth tied to their wrist. Paul runs alongside Ivy and guides her through the race. She has fallen down many times, but she never stays down for long and she has never started a race that she has not finished. Ivy is a 77-year-old blind runner. Frogs In Cream

Frogs In Cream

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, December 19th 2016 Share the goods! Two frogs fell into a bowl of cream. The sides were so slick that they could not climb out of it. The frogs had to paddle and paddle just to stay alive; this went on and on for a long time. One frog got so tired that he gave up. He said, “We are never going to get out of here, we’re wasting our time!” He quit, and sunk to the bottom of the bowl. The other frog was more determined; he did not want to quit, so he kept paddling and paddling. A little more time passed, and he noticed that the consistency of cream was changing: it got thicker and thicker. This made the paddling more difficult to do, but the frog refused to quit. Before long, the cream turned to butter, and the frog was able to step out of the butter and walk away. We need to have the same attitude in our lives sometimes. Where there seems to be no way out, let’s keep pressing on and not quit. Keep the faith, and God will honor it! Where there seems to be no way out, let's keep pressing on and not quit. Pain that Fuel Your Dream

Pain that Fuel Your Dream

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, December 5th 2016 Share the goods! For many Christians, we want God’s training program to be a microwave, but more often than not it is a crockpot or slow cooker. Glen Cunningham was born on a farm in Kansas. He attended school in a rural community in the one-room school house so many of us have seen in our travels around the country. He and his brother were given an assignment to stoke and light the fire in the big pot belly furnace in the middle of the classroom. On one particular morning, they were a bit late arriving at the school house and in order to speed up the process they poured kerosene over the fuel supply before they lit it. Unbeknownst to them there were still some live coals from the previous day’s fire. When they poured the kerosene over the fuel supply there was an explosion and a great fire, which caused both of the young men to be seriously injured. As Glen Cunningham was running from the building he looked back and he saw his brother lying on the floor next to the furnace and he instinctively ran back to grab his brother from the fire. Tragically, a few days later his brother died from the burns and Glen Cunningham was burned so badly around his legs that the doctor said he would never walk again. With God, we can turn tragedies into victories. Click To Tweet Certainly no one ever dared to believe that he would run again and that he would run again to break...

The Mannequin in the Window

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, June 20th 2016 Share the goods! God wants to dress you up and give you a new nature so you can attract people to Him and make Him look good! Your job is to make God look good! Why is a mannequin in a store window? To be an attraction; to make the store look great and enticing, and lure the customer into the store. The mannequin sets the tone of the store through the clothes that it wears so that people will come in and spend money in the store. Catch this, the clothes on the dummy did not come from the dummy, the clothes on the dummy came from the owner of the store, and the owner of the store put clothes on the dummy so that folks on the outside will be drawn into the store. Similarly, our job is to make God look good whether things are going well, or they’re not. God wants to dress us up so that we will attract people into the store called the kingdom of God!! Staying The Course

Staying The Course

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, May 30th 2016 Share the goods! Boating on the ocean is fascinating. The captain sets a compass heading in the direction he wants to go. He locks in that heading on the autopilot, and then the boat takes off in that direction; so far so good. It gets interesting when the craft hits a large wave or a series of waves. The autopilot does not allow the external action to alter its course. It keeps its original decision in place, heads straight for the goal, and then goes through the wave. There is a splash, lots of rocking and spraying, and an immediate correction by the autopilot if the ship is knocked off course in any way. When I say immediate, I mean immediate. The autopilot does not allow the ship to get swayed off course even momentarily when it hits a bump in the water. Beware of the fear of men... Click To Tweet Most people do not operate like this. They know their proverbial ship is heading in the right direction, but they look over to see someone else’s reaction to their decision. The other person’s decision becomes like a mighty wave that looms larger and larger until it appears even bigger and bigger than their decisions, goals, and values that drove the initial decision. So the person changes their course. They adjust, but now they have lost their heading. They have avoided crashing into the wave and getting soaked by the spray, but now they are off course. Well, not entirely off course, but rather they’re on someone...

The Teacher’s Mind

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, May 23rd 2016 Share the goods! Have you ever noticed that when a student is taking a test the teacher is not talking? You know why? Because, if the teacher has allowed the student to take the test, he believes the student has everything needed to pass the test. If you are taking the test and you aren’t hearing from God, it could mean that in His eyes, he has given you everything you need already to pass the test. God will not allow you to take the test unless he feels he has prepared you for it. Everything you need you have in Christ Jesus. Click To Tweet In the state of Florida the school systems are awarded money by something called FACT. FACT is where the teachers prepare the students all year long to take the exams. The school system is awarded money based on how the kids perform on the test. The teachers prepare the students all year long. Passing the exam is not an indication of the student, but an indicator of the teacher. If you are taking the test and God is not talking that means He knows that you are ready. The test is not about you, but it is about how well the teacher has prepared you. Everything you need you have in Christ Jesus. Save Your Work

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, May 16th 2016 Share the goods! God is the great computer. When you get born again, He gives you a new life, sort of like a new word document, when we open a new file. You can then begin to write the new story of your life. Every now and then, the computer will prompt you with a question. “Do you want to save your work?” Your choices are Yes, No, or Cancel. In some cases, if you Cancel, it means give me a little more time. But at the end of every man’s life every file is closed. Every time you click “Close” you get asked the question, “Do you want to save your work?” Will you hear "Well done!" at the end of your life on earth? Click To Tweet The goal of every man is to spend his days opening files and working. So that when we come to the end of our lives, and we are asked, do you want to save your work, because we have used the time to glorify God, our answer can be YES!! Here is the question that every man has to ask himself, do you want to save your work? Roots & Fruit

Roots & Fruit

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, April 25th 2016 Share the goods! In the bible there is a teaching on roots and fruits. God has designed the universe so that you can identify problems based on the effect they have on our lives. For example, suppose you discover water dripping from the ceiling of your living room and it’s ruining your carpet. You will probably respond to this problem in one of two ways. One way is to engage in damage control. You will keep empty pots and pans wherever the water is leaking and scurry around to keep them emptied. If you live in a rainy climate, this could become a full-time job. Plus, it’s hard to cook without cookware! Every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. Click To Tweet The second method you might choose is to hire someone to come in and fix the leaky roof. This may cost more, but it will truly solve the problem. The soggy carpet is evidence of the “fruit.” It tells us that there is a serious problem in the structure of the house. The “root” is the leaky roof. If we do not pay attention to the root, we will likely have much more bad fruit, such as thousands of dollars of damaged carpet and flooring. Matthew 7:17-18 NKJV says, “Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. In other words, results always point toward causes. MORE TOPICS addiction...
Frisbee Dog

Frisbee Dog

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, April 10th 2016 Share the goods! Say you have a Frisbee dog at home. You know, the kind that catches Frisbees. You enter him into all types of competitions and he breaks his leg playing Frisbee. We all know that the dog is going to take at least a couple of weeks to heal. Would you make your dog go out and perform injured? The answer is no because you love your dog, and you want him to get well so that he can play Frisbee another day. As a result, you may lose a Frisbee competition because you were a no-show. When we have Biblical values, we know that if we are asked to do things by other people who do not understand us as well as we need to be understood, they may be asking us to play Frisbee with a broken leg. We know that if we do, we are going to re-injure ourselves. This is when we have to allow our “yes to be yes and our no to be no” (Matthew 5:37), which is simply a way of protecting ourselves. It may not seem loving to the person who wants to control you, but it is loving to God because you are taking responsibility to fix that puppy’s broken leg. Seek Knock Find

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, April 4th 2016 Share the goods! Have you ever lost your car keys? After you look in three or four places, do you just say, “I guess those keys are lost forever?” No. You keep looking all over until you find them, and you will tear up the house because you need those car keys and cannot function without them. So you keep looking and wreck your house looking for the keys. Catch this!!! The more frustrated you get, the more you throw things around. When you are in hot pursuit of something you don’t take the time to put things back into order, you don’t stack your clothes or dishes neatly just then. You just go crazy until you find whatever it is you’re looking for. You seek until you find. Keep asking, seeking and knocking. Click To Tweet Did you ever forget your key, or lock yourself out of your house when you were a kid? You knew someone was home, but maybe they were asleep and couldn’t hear you. But you didn’t just stand there and wait patiently for someone to let you in. You didn’t just knock one time, you kept knocking, or yelling, “Anybody home?! I’m locked out!” or ringing the bell until you got in. You did everything you needed to do because you knew someone was inside. This is what the Bible means in Matthew 7:7 when it instructs you to keep asking, seeking and knocking: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be...

Call Me Joseph

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, March 21st 2016 Share the goods! There was a couple that had five miscarriages in nine years, and as you can imagine, they were devastated. The husband’s name was Joe, and he and his wife were grossly discouraged. One day as he was having a Bible study, he stumbled upon the Bible character named Joseph in Genesis. The name Joseph means “God will add”. All of a sudden Joe started telling all his friends to stop calling him “Joe” and to start calling him “Joseph”. Every time he heard his full name, it was a reminder that God will add. And do you know, it was not long before his wife became pregnant and after ten years they have a child, and the child is doing well. This is an excellent testimony to the power of words in our lives. Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, March 7th 2016 Share the goods! We have all watched a space shuttle lift off from planet earth and soar into outer space and into the heavens. What’s deep is that space shuttle sits on a launch pad and is ready to move into another realm, but it can’t go anywhere until the fire at its base has been ignited. There’s a countdown and when it hits zero the boosters are ignited and the shuttle takes off into space. A blazing fire takes it from the gravitational pull of the earth and delivers it to the glory of the heavens. Most Christians have been earthbound too long, and unable to get their missions off the ground. Click To Tweet But if there’s no fire; there’s no ignition, and no destiny. Most Christians have been earthbound too long, and unable to get their missions off the ground. In the meantime a countdown is in effect because we’re growing older day by day. The War is Over

The War is Over

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, February 22nd 2016 Share the goods! Years ago a report was released about some Americans who went to a remote area in the Pacific islands, and discovered people still fighting fifteen to twenty years after World War II had ended. The people on the island had not heard the news that bombs had been dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and that a peace treaty had been signed, and the war was over. When the Americans arrived and told them that the war was over, the islanders initially didn’t believe them and thought the Americans were trying to kill them. Are you fighting a war that has been over since Christ died for your sins? Click To Tweet Later they discovered how ignorant they’d been—fighting for two decades after the war was over. This is what the sinner discovers after he gets born again. He realizes that he’s been fighting a war that has been over since Christ died for his sins. And when the sinner finally has a revelation of this, he says to himself, “Peace has been won, and I no longer have to go around fighting for myself living with all of this tension on the inside of me! Life of an Acorn

Life of an Acorn

Family Leadership Men Personal Development Relationships Women Monday, February 15th 2016 Share the goods! Have you ever seen an oak tree surrounded by fallen acorns? If you step on an acorn it cracks easily, but the oak tree that grows from its seed is almost indestructible. The oak tree is much harder than its seed and compared to the acorn looks and feels very different and is made of a very different substance. The acorn is weak and the tree is powerful; the acorn is fragile and the tree is nearly indestructible. But you have to plant the weaker acorn before the stronger tree can grow. The goal of the Christian life is for the inward man to swallow and dissolve the outward man. Click To Tweet Catch this: the tree does not come from the shell of the seed; it comes from inside of the seed. What releases the power inside of the seed is the death of the shell. When a seed is planted in the ground, the shell dissolves, releasing the life on the inside into the soil and the substance of the tree is created from the inside, not the shell of the seed. So what happens is the inner part of the seed swallows up the outer part of the seed and a whole new substance comes out of the ground called a tree. Likewise we are seeds. The goal of the Christian life is for the inward man to swallow and dissolve the outward man. This will happen completely when Jesus returns, but our goal is for this to happen now here on...
